She emphasized that digitalization is a blue ocean for the whole industry, and that Huawei will keep investing in domains like connectivity, computing, storage, and cloud.  Additionally, she presented three significant insights gleaned from Huawei’s extensive digital transformation journey spanning almost a decade: strategy is essential; data is the foundation; and intelligence is the destination.
    • Strategy is essential: At its essence, digital transformation is about strategic planning and strategic choices. Any successful digital transformation has to be driven by strategy, not technology.”
    • Data is the foundation: “Data only creates value when it flows across an organization, so methodical data governance is key. Integrating data across different dimensions will create even greater value.”
    • Intelligence is the destination: “Data is redefining productivity. Digitizing operations and building digital platforms helps clean, visualize, and aggregate data, laying the foundation for digital transformation. Putting intelligence to use makes data on-demand, easier to understand, and actionable, taking digital transformation to the next level.”
  • Dr. Zhou Hong, President of Huawei’s Institute of Strategic Research, shared Huawei’s hypotheses and visions for a future intelligent world. He explained how we can transform experience into structured knowledge, and lay the foundation for intelligence. He also proposed new approaches to networking and computing that can overcome the limits of Shannon’s theory and drive a 100-fold increase in network capabilities over the next decade.
  • Huawei announced its F5.5G strategy to enable 10Giga-City through innovation. F5.5G stands for Full-Scenario 5.5G Network Solution that can support diverse scenarios such as enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), massive machine-type communications (mMTC), ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC), and fixed wireless access (FWA). Huawei also demonstrated how F5.5G can empower various industries such as airport, railway, finance, oil and gas, manufacturing, electric power, mining, and enterprise service.
  • Huawei unveiled its new cloud strategy that aims to provide customers with digital infrastructure that has the simplest possible architecture with the highest possible quality – that delivers the best possible experience at the lowest possible costs. Huawei Cloud will offer everything as a service for industries to go digital in four stages: digitizing operations; building digital platforms; enabling platform-based intelligence; and putting intelligence to use.
  • Huawei showcased its latest ICT service and software solutions that enable digital intelligence transformation for customers across different domains. Huawei also shared its best practices and success stories in helping customers achieve business growth and innovation through ICT service and software.

Huawei believes that the implementation of an all-optical 10Giga city will begin with five key scenarios – home, enterprise, machine, computing, and sensing. In the home scenario, there has been an emergence of new applications such as ultra-HD video, XR, metaverse, and cloud desktop. This has led to a need for higher bandwidth, lower latency, and higher reliability of home broadband. In the enterprise scenario, smart campus applications require improved network capabilities, and future industrial production will require a 10G all-optical production network that supports the intelligent connection of everything. The machine scenario requires a 10G all-optical network that enables intelligent interconnection, providing >10 Gbps bandwidth, <1 ms latency, <20 μs jitter for ultra-HD quality checking and fast production lines. The rapid development of cloud computing has led to the need for a 10G network that uses simplified architecture and all-optical grooming to reduce transmission power consumption in the computing scenario. Lastly, the optical fiber sensing capability enables fiber digitalization and accurate fault location, achieving visible and manageable fiber networks and improving network operation efficiency in the sensing scenario.
